Jesus' Broken Heart

There’s not a night that a girl won’t dream of how her man will be.
Strong and wise, romantic and kind, her dearest fantasy.
According to all the movies and songs she’s supposed to know right when they meet
That he is the One, and it won’t be long ‘fore he sweeps her right off her feet.

Day and night she dreams and waits for her love story to start.
With longing, impatient she prays and prays for the right man to whom give her heart.
“Our wedding will be the prettiest thing, our children will be named as such”
She can’t help but think on what their life will be. She already loves him so much.

In all her fantasies, planning, and dreams she hasn’t been able to see
That a man strong and wise, romantic and kind, her faithful groom wants to be.
He got her attention some Sundays ago, with sweet words that spoke of her life.
He said “I accept you despite all you’ve done”, and she promised she’d be His wife.

She’s failed to notice that His heart has been broken at how quickly she’s turned her back.
And despite her rejection and constant betrayal, He’s made sure she’s never in lack.
He thought that it would be much more than enough to give up His life for her own
To get her to realize He’d do anything to turn her heart into His home.

It was stony and cold when He first saw her face, but He knew when He gazed in her eyes
That Heaven and Hell couldn’t stop Him from saving her, Eternity with her His Prize.
He’s not one to boast and has no need to brag, all His promises He sure can keep.
He promised her Heaven and Perfect Love, to never again let her weep.

He thought she was satisfied, but lately he’s seen how she stumbles and fails yet to stand.
When she cries, how it kills Him! Yet He told her before “You won’t fall if you just hold my hand”.
He’s so obsessed, He’s madly in love. There’s no turning back for Him now.
He wants her to see herself just as He does, but she keeps on refusing, so how!?

It kills Him, it’s like Crucifixion again every single time she starts to doubt
That she’s beautiful, special, and worthy to be the perfect Bride that He’s called out.
Out of millions of women inhabiting Earth, not one of them’s got what she’s got.
With all His best moves, He did just what she likes, hoping she’d give Him a shot.

She said “Yes, I accept You. Jesus, I’m Yours”. He thought “Finally, she’s all mine now”.
Back then when she’d call him like ten times a day He felt sure she’d never break that vow.
And now it’s been weeks, and not once has she called to speak to Him or even say Hello.
All she ever talks about is how badly she wants to find another man to get to know.

He knows He’s a Spirit and she’s still in flesh, He’s always been aware of that fact.
But His heart beats for her, and He wants to be sure that she’ll never, not ever turn her back.
It’s not so easy to just let her go, He knows only in Him there is life.
And before He gives her what she’s not ready for, He wants to be sure she’s His wife..

Obedient to His Word, subject to His guidance. He’s so patient in teaching her how.
She gets frustrated, He knows, and she knows what He’s Promised, but she wants to see all of it now.
A sweet impatient beauty, so young in the faith. She’s not ready to take on the task
But by faith in faith He promised she’d be if daily she’d not fail to ask.

She’s grown up so much since He first touched her heart, they were going so steady and then
That jealous old player that wants her for himself got her to doubt Him again.
He just plays with her mind, and deceives her with lies, he won’t treat her the way Jesus will.
Can’t she see that she’s meant for much more than this world, Her beauty all Heaven to fill.

Apparently she’s lost the love she once had. She wants Him to bring her another.
He just can’t till she realizes that a good Christian man is before being her husband her brother.
And though it breaks His heart to see she’s moving on, He’ll wait in hopes that she’ll return
To His scarred, open arms that would still do anything for her, ‘cause for her they yearn.

But their story is not over, He is sure that His love is sufficient to soon let her know
That all her desires He will grant her in time if first in His virtues she’ll grow.
He just loves her so much that He’ll overlook this part. He knows she’ll realize in time
That He is the One that’s been there all along, who loves her with a love so sublime.

He wrote her a Book, and he sent her a Message, if only she’d take time to read it.
She’d see all the love she desires is there, and soon the story completed.
He’s done all He can, and now all she must do is stop wishing for this long enough
To let Him prepare her for what He’s got in store.. for a happily ever after, His love.

The End.
